The Greek word λόγοι could be translated into English as “speeches,” but for our research group the term evokes so much more. It is an acronym that encapsulates the very essence of our objects of study. Thus, LOGOI stands for “Laboratorio para la observación general de oradores e intérpretes”. (Laboratory for the General Observation of Speakers and Interpreters).

Created at the end of 2019 at the University of Alicante, the LOGOI research group, as its very name indicates, analyses the fundamental principles that govern contemporary oratory and its impact on professional interpreting in the field of international conferences and, secondarily, in public service settings, both face-to-face and remote.

Our research activity is structured around three main pillars: an observational-descriptive one, an empirical-experimental one and a pedagogical-training one. Together, they make it possible to approach interpreting from a comprehensive and integrative perspective, which is explained in the research section in more detail.
