INTERNSHIPS

Fourth-year Translation and Interpreting students at the University of Alicante carry out extracurricular professional internships coordinated by some members of LOGOI. As part of these internships, students practise their translation and interpreting skills at international events where multilingual communication is required.

Since 2011, the year the International Congress of Occupational Therapy Students (CIETO) was created, organised by students of the Occupational Therapy degree at the Miguel Hernández University (Elche), UA Translation and Interpreting students have collaborated by doing translations as well as liaison, whispered, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.

This year, once again, UA interpreting students will lend their support to the event, which will be held from 14 to 16 May 2025. Further information:

14th International Congress of Occupational Therapy Students. 14-16 May 2025.

In 2022, our students completed extracurricular internships in consecutive and liaison interpreting at the event Connect Clean: Sustainability in Cities and Tourism, which in that edition focused on “Sustainability in Cities and Tourism 5.0”.

In 2023, our students participated as simultaneous interpreters in an international congress dedicated to the French writer Valery Larbaud, a congress led by Dr. Maribel Corbí (UA) and Dr. Gil Charbonnier (Université Aix–Marseille).

In 2024, our students participated as simultaneous interpreters in an international congress entitled “Constructions and Identity Challenges in European Artistic Narratives: Intramural and Migrant”, a congress led by Dr. Maribel Corbí (UA) and Dr. Gabriel Sansano (UA).
